Ruth Painter, daughter of Granville and Jennie Painter was born near Prairie City March 10, 1897 and departed this life June 15, 1944 at her home near Otley, Ia.
She was married in March of 1921 to Walter S. Vander Hart. To this union were born six children, Harold, Evelyn, Doyle, Donald, Francis and a baby who died in infancy. Besides her husband and children who survive, she leaves to mourn her passing, two sisters and two brothers.
The funeral was conducted at the Baptist church at Monroe, Monday, June 19 at 1:30 o’clock by the Rev. J. Lynn Pace. Burial was in the Vandalia cemetery.
Those from Pella attending the funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Vander Zyl, Mrs. Chas. Dykhuis and Mrs. Andrew Dykhuis, Misses Marie, Anna, Agnes and Everetta Vander hart, Miss Nellie Vos, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Vos, Will Vos and Mrs. Arthur De Vries.
