Stacy Lynn (Van Fleet) Suttek
December 26, 1972 ~ October 15, 2020 (age 47)Stacy Lynn Suttek, 47, of Des Moines, formerly of Newton died on Thursday, October 15, 2020, at her home. A visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, October 25, 2020, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorials to House of Mercy may be left at the funeral home.
Stacy, the daughter of Daniel and Glenda (Bolkema) Van Fleet, was born on December 26, 1972 in Iowa City. She grew up in Newton and was an accomplished bowler and softball player. Stacy graduated in the Newton High School class of 1991. On January 21, 2000, Stacy was united in marriage with Jack Suttek in Newton. They were the proud parents of two children, Katie and Jack. Stacy was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Newton. She enjoyed doing crafts and being out in nature. Stacy loved spending time with her kids and one of their favorite memories are the amazing after school snacks that she would make for them.
Those left to celebrate her life include her children, Katie Suttek and Jack Suttek, both of Newton; her dad, Dan Van Fleet of Newton; sister, Stephanie Yoakum (Sid Noe) of Prairie City; grandmother, Mary Van Fleet of Newton; her nieces and nephew, Megan Garcia, Riley Carroll, and Dylan Stoulil; and her great-niece, Ava Garcia. She was preceded in death by her mother, Glenda Van Fleet.
