Hans Jurgen Lenz, 68, of Baxter passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2020. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Restland Cemetery in Baxter, Iowa.
Hans was born on August 24, 1952 in Kaiserslautern, Germany to Irma (Dungfelder) Lenz. They moved to Baxter, Iowa when he was 6. He attended Baxter High School and graduated with the class of 1971. After school he worked for Maytag and then farmed alongside his father until retirement. Hans was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Baxter, Iowa. He was a collector of many things, including cars of all kinds. Hans loved spending time with his grandkids, family, watching Nascar and his Bears. Also, the occasional rummage sale.
Those left to cherish his memories are his parents Wayne and Irma Poage; longtime partner Sharon Keeley; children Gary Fallon, Rodney (Laura) Fallon, Stacy (Rodney) Pearson, and Stefanie (Mike) Cluphf; grandchildren Samantha, Devin, Rebekah, and Austin; brother John (Sybil) Poage.
