Betty L. Gomez Dies Wednesday; Rites Saturday
Sully – Mrs. Joe (Betty Louise) Gomez, 53, of Rt. 1, Sully, a longtime resident of the Sully area and former resident of Newton, was dead on arrival at the Grinnell General Hospital Wednesday evening.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Wallace Funeral Home in Newton. Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Wallace Funeral Home after 1 p.m. Friday.
Memorial contributions to a fund set up in Mrs. Gomez’s name will be accepted. Memorials may be left at the funeral home.
Survivors are her husband; a son, Gary of Reasnor; a daughter, Mrs. Conrad (Linda) Loupee of Reasnor; and five grandchildren.
Also surviving are three brothers, James Keith of Newton, Glenn Keith of Fort Worth, Tex., and Gene Keith of Des Moines; and five sisters, Mrs. Calvin (Ruth) Logue, Mrs. Dean (Grace) Hawkins, Mrs. Carroll F. (Francis) Talbot, Mrs. Elizabeth De Koning and Mrs. Mary Sanders, all of Newton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Kenneth Lee and Michael Joe; and a brother, Henry Keith.
Mrs. Gomez was a member of the Lynnville Church of God.
The daughter of James M. and Adella Miller Keith, she was born March 24, 1928 in Russell.
She was married Feb. 28, 1950 in Des Moines.
