Marie L. VandeWeerd Hardenbrook, 91, of Newton, went to be with her Lord Sunday, Sept. 6, 2020, at her home in Park Centre in Newton, with her children at her side.
Marie’s funeral service was at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10 at the Newton First Assembly of God Church, 1029 E. 19th St. N. in Newton, officiated by Pastor Don Hayes. Burial was at the Newton Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to the Newton First Assembly of God Church; memorials may be left at the church on the day of the service or at the funeral home or mailed to the Wallace Family Funeral Home, 1115 E. 19th St. N., Newton, IA 50208, please add, Attn: Hardenbrook Family on the envelope.
Those left to cherish Marie’s memory are her children, Janet E. Hardenbrook of Newton, Joyce E. (David) Beckham of Newton and Jim M. (Angie) Hardenbrook of Galesburg; nine grandchildren, Lisa Pearson of Orchard, Neb., Amy Trease of Kearney, Neb., Lynnzi (Will Ruimveld) Trease of Orchard, Neb., Jared (Erin) Beckham of Ames, Jonathan (Madison Campbell) Beckham of Ankeny, Courtney Beckham of Ankeny, Justin Hardenbrook of Clarion, Alexis Hardenbrook of Galesburg and Joshua Hardenbrook of Galesburg; six great-grandchildren, Joseph Lusk, Andrew Pearson, Rylee Durant, Alizayah Ruimveld, Oliver Beckham and James Beckham. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dan in 2014; and sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Emil Gerard.
