Services Held November 17 For Ella Ruggless
Funeral services for Ella DeReus Ruggless, 85, of Temple City, Calif., a former longtime resident of Jasper county, were held at 11 a.m. Thursday Nov. 17, at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City.
The Rev. Al Kinrade, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Prairie City, conducted services. Burial was in the Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City.
The organist was Margaret Burns.
Casket bearers were Raymond Walker, Howard Thomas, Dwain DeReus, Harold Thomas, Ben Ruggless, and Melvin McReynolds.
Honorary bearers were Jack Simpson, Howard Ridgeway, Ralph Perry, Barney Snetselaar, and Clifford Duckstein.
In charge of flowers were Coleen Henderson, Coleen Robson and Margie Thomas.
Mrs. Ruggless died Sunday, Nov. 13, at Temple City.
Survivors are a son, Darwin R. of Monrovia, Calif.; a daughter, June Warren of Newton; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, three grandsons, two sisters and four brothers.
Mrs. Ruggless was a member of the United Methodist Church in Prairie City.
The daughter of Peter and Ella Poulson DeReus, she was born Feb. 26, 1903 in Valeria.
She was married to Lee Ruggless June 16, 1925 in Newton.
