C. W. Wonders, 64, City Employee Dies Here Today
Charles William Wonders, 64, died at the Skiff Memorial Hospital about 11 o’clock today. He was admitted to the hospital Dec. 9.
Born in Streator, Ill., he moved to Des Moines and later to Newton in 1923, where he has since resided. He was employed at the city waterworks.
Survivors include his wife, the former Ola Hughes, whom he married in 1905 in Missouri; also four sons, George, Lloyd, Garland and Russell, all of Newton; and four daughters, Mrs. Harold (Mary) Baber of Upland, Neb.; Mrs. Mark (Wilma) McNeeley of Des Moines; Mrs. Esther Simpson and Mrs. Don (Katherine) Hasselman, both of Newton.
Funeral services will be held at the Assembly of God church at 2 o’clock Thursday. The Rev. Benson Compton will officiate. Burial will be made at McKeever cemetery, north of Colfax.
