Michael C. Stafford, 49, of Newton died Tuesday, May 25, at his home.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton. Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home today from 5 to 7 p.m. where the family will be available. Memorials will be accepted in his name to the American Heart Association.

The son of Billy Joe Stafford and Betty Ann Henning, he was born March 28, 1955, in Iowa City. He was a mechanic and enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He lived in Texas, Tennessee and Indiana, as well as Newton.

Survivors include two sons, Cory Stafford of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Nick Stafford of San Antonio, Texas; four daughters, Melissa Jones of St. Louis, Mo., Angela Stafford of Fort Dodge, Beth Stafford of Fort Dodge and Kayla Stafford of Fort Dodge; his parents; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Albert and Minnie Henning and William and Florence Stafford.
