Former County Resident, Dies

Mrs. Fred E. (Lena Mae) Young, 89 of Grinnell, a former resident of Jasper County, died Tuesday at Grinnell.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell. The Rev. Morris Hays, pastor of the Hickory Grove Church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Palo Alto Cemetery.

Survivors are two sons, Howard R. of Grinnell and G. Paul of Des Moines; a daughter, Mrs. Manfred (Joelle) Mitchell of Moraga, Calif.; four grandchildren; and a brother, Walter E. Paulson of Kellogg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jan. 10, 1952, a son, a daughter, five sisters and a brother.

The daughter of Paul P. and Anna Thyerson Paulson, she was born Nov. 26, 1883 in Kellogg and was educated in Kellogg schools.

She also had resided in the Rock Creek community for 23 years, south of Newton for 3 years, in Oakland, Calif., and Portland, Ore.
