Witmer, Mrs. J. R.

The wife of J. R. Witmer of Greencastle, who has been receiving treatment at the asylum for the insane at Mt. Pleasant for the past five or six months, died at that place on the 6th inst. (of this month) and the remains brought back to the home at Greencastle for interment.

The funeral was held in the Evangelical Church at 1 p. m. Friday afternoon, Rev. T. A. Lampman of the M. E. Church and Rev. Morris of the Evangelical Church officiating. They sympathies of the entire community are extended to this estimable family in their sad affliction.

Mrs. J. R. Witmer of Greencastle, who was sent to the Mt. Pleasant asylum some time ago, died there on Tuesday of last week, aged forty-nine years. The remains were brought back to her home, where the funeral was held on Friday. Besides her husband, she leaves five daughters and two sons. ~ The Newton Record Thursday, February 15, 1900
