Last Rites for Alma L. Widen Held At Reeder

Widen, Alma (Leach)

Funeral services were held for Alma L. Widen at the Reeder Congregational church on Sat., Oct. 21, 1967, with the Rev. Lawrence Juell officiating.

Mrs. Widen passed away on Thurs., Oct. 18.

Kurt Erdmann was the soloist at the services and Mrs. Kurt Erdmann was the organist.

Pallbearers were Robert Lewis, Kermit Johnson, Kurt Erdmann, Robert Mundahl, Art Olson, and Gene Hanson.

Interment was made in the Reeder Cemetery with the Barclay Funeral Home of Hettinger in charge of arrangements.

Alma Lenora Leach was born April 4, 1873 at Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Thomas and Amanda Leach.

When she was very young the family moved to Colfax, Iowa. At the age of 14 she was baptized and became a member of the Methodist Church.

In 1894 she was married to Thomas L. Galbreath and in 1907 she and the family moved to Perkins County, S.D. Mr. Galbreath passed away in January, 1924.

In 1927 she was married to Frank Widen of Reeder, N.D. where she has since lived. Mr. Widen passed away in 1958.

Three sisters, two brothers, and one daughter preceded Mrs. Widen in death. One son, John A. Leach, Des Moines, Iowa, and one son, Mr. C.G. Galbreath survive.

Her passing is also mourned by a large number of friends from throughout the area.
