Bertha Jones Former Kellogg Resident Dies
Kellogg – Mrs. Herbert E. (Bertha S. Jones), 89, Jefferson City, Mo., former Kellogg resident, died Thursday at a Jefferson City hospital.
Private funeral services will be held Saturday morning at the Houser Funeral Home in Jefferson City.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
Graveside rites will be held at 3:30 Saturday at Our Silent City Cemetery at Kellogg. The Rev. Robert Gamble, pastor of the Kellogg United Methodist Church, will conduct the services at Kellogg.
Survivors are a son, Paul F. Jones of Kirksville, Mo.; and a daughter, Mrs. Sam G. (Dorothy) Gove of Jefferson City.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Mrs. Jones was a member of the Methodist Church at Kirksville, Mo., and the Ladies Aid Society.
The daughter of Charles and Ernestina Achtenmeier Bobzin, she was born Dec. 13, 1881 at Kellogg and attended the conservatory of music at Grinnell.
She was married in 1901.
