Son of Maytag Employe Dies Thursday
Jeffrey Duane Johnson, 14, 532 Harris Ave., Grinnell, son of Leslie Duane Johnson, labor relations manager at Maytag Plant No. 2, died Thursday at Grinnell General Hospital.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell.
Memorial contributions to the Grinnell Junior High school athletic fund will be accepted. Contributions may be sent to Dick Purcell, Grinnell Junior High School, Grinnell, Iowa.
Surviving are his father; a sister, Mrs. Rod (Sharon) O’Neal of Marshalltown; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. P. L. Johnson of Grinnell and Mrs. Oscar Swanson of Lucas; and seven uncles, including Gene Johnson of Newton.
Jeffrey was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
He had served as athletic manager at Grinnell Junior High school.
Jeffrey was born June 19, 1956, in Grinnell and attended Davis Elementary and Grinnell Junior High school.
