Mabel Raridon, 87, of Baxter died of a heart ailment Tuesday at Colonial Manor. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton, and burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery.

Mrs. Raridon was born in Newton and lived in Jasper County all her life. She retired as a licensed practical nurse after working at the Jasper County Home, Skiff Medical Center and other area nursing homes.

Among survivors are a son, Deryl Damman of Melbourne; two daughters, Helen Barnes of Overland Park, Kan., and Carolee Durant of Des Moines; nine grand-children; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. today at the funeral home.
