Geo. M. Raridon
Geo. M. Raridon died quite suddenly last Tuesday morning, at his home, in this place, after an illness of only a few hours with heart disease: aged 77 years 5 months and 13 days.
A wife, six sons - Walter, C.P., Homer, Quincy, Adrian and Charles - and three daughters - Miss Hattie, Mrs. Sarah Wheat, and Mrs. Lettie Owen - survive him.
Three sons and the daughters were in attendance at the obsequies which were conducted from the Christian church yesterday by Rev. King, and the remains were laid to rest at Oak Hill.
Mr. Raridon had been for nearly 46 years past a resident of Jasper County, the past six years of which he has been a resident of Colfax. Unostentatious in his manners, a firm friend, a devoted husband and father, his loss is greatest to the family circle, but neighbors and acquaintences will also miss him from his accustomed place and combine in sympathy for the bereaved ones. A good man has gone to his reward. May he rest in peace.
