Death of a Former Newton Citizen

Pryor, William

Many of the old friends of Wm. M. Pryor will hear with sorrow of his death, which occurred at his home in Iowa City, Sunday morning, December 17.

Billie, as he was familiarly known, came to Newton with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Pryor, in 1854, when but a boy, from Muskingum County, Ohio. He grew to manhood and was married here, where by his happy, genial disposition he made friends of all with whom he was associated.

Several years ago business relations called him to Iowa City, where he resided until his death. He was nearly 50 years of age.

For many months he has been gradually failing under that dread disease, consumption, which would not yield to medical skill or tender watchful care of loving friends.

He leaves a wife and three children, also his father, mother, brothers and sisters to mourn his death.
