Pink, Fanny

Fanny Belle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Pink, died at the parental home in Buena Vista Township on Saturday, April 29th, aged 16 years, 5 months and 16 days. She had been exposed to the measles about two weeks ago, but became seriously ill on the Monday before her death.

Fanny was born Nov. 13th, 1882. When five years of age, she was stricken with spinal disease, which left her badly crippled in body, but with a peculiarly clear mind and a disposition noted for its sweetness, which endeared her not only to her own family, but to all who knew her. She was always light-hearted and happy notwithstanding her almost lifelong affliction. In her studies at school she always led her classes, and was always punctual in attendance. During last winter she was neither absent nor tardy during the entire term, although the weather was bad a great part of the time. Her parents and family are sorely grieved on account of her death, and their sorrow is shared by a large circle of friends.

The funeral services were held at Mt. Zion M. E. Church, conducted by Rev. Elias Handy, assisted by Rev. Rouze. A very large attendance attested the high esteem in which Fanny was held in the community where her whole life had been spent.
