Edgar Nott Dies Following Illness

Edgar E. Nott

Edgar E. Nott, 60, of Rte. 2, Gilman, died Wednesday morning at Newton following an illness of the past three years.

The son of Goerge Washington and Hester Sansbury Nott, Mr. Nott was born Sept. 21, 1909, in Etterville, Mo.

On Oct. 27, 1934, he married Beulah Fahrni in California, Mo. To this union eight children were born - - - Mrs. Vernon (Ruth) Cooling of Garwin, Mrs. Delbert (Doris) Kellogg of Marshalltown, Mrs. Terry (Patsy) Smith of Kellogg, Mrs. Larry (Virginia) Garetson of Walker, Mrs. James (Lorine) Burgess of Ottumwa, Ronald Nott of Gilman, Gary Nott of St. Louis, Mo., and Darrell Nott of Indianapolis, Ind.

Mr. and Mrs. Nott lived in Eldon and California, Mo., until 1940 when they came to the Newburg area to farm. Mr. Nott was a member of the Newburg United Church of Christ and the Men's Club of the church. Survivors include his wife, Beulah; eight children; 19 grandchildren; two brothers - - - Charles Nott of St. Charles, Mo., and Emmett Nott of Rolla, Mo.; and two sisters - - - Mrs. Nettie Buster of Eldon, Mo., and Mrs. Leonard (Flossie) Bilyue of California, Mo. Mr. Nott was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services for Mr. Nott will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at the Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. L. Willard Reynolds, pastor of the Newburg United Church of Christ-Congregational, officiating.

Organist will be Mrs. Donald J. Renaud. Pallbearers will be Charles Carnahan, Ervin Claus, Dean Douglas, Lee Hauser, ___?___chard Paul and Lavern We___?___ Honorary pallbearers will ___?___ Carnahan, James Fulle___?___ McCulloch, John McIlra___?___ Paul, Bill Sutton, De___?___ and Harold Weav___?___.
