Neasham, Jane

Mrs. Wm. Neasham, who lived two miles southwest of town, suffered a second stroke of paralysis on the 14th inst (of this month), from which she died on Tuesday of last week, March 20th.

She was born in Yorkshire, England, Sept. 12, 1826; emigrated with her parents to New York in 1928; married William Neasham, Nov. 12, 1855, and moved to Newton, Iowa, in the spring of 1869, where on a farm near by they have since resided.

Two sons and four daughters were born to them, two of whom, Charles and Anna, preceded the mother to the better world. The husband and three daughters, one son and twenty-two grandchildren are left to mourn the loss of a faithful wife, kind mother and indulgent grandmother. She also leaves one brother and one sister, both living in Pennsylvania.

The funeral services were held on Wednesday of last week, conducted by Rev. A. S. Loveall, pastor of the Newton M. E. Circuit, and the remains were laid to rest in the Newton Cemetery.
