IN MEMORY OF INEZ MILLGATE

Inez Millgate (nee Breeden)

Inez was born on June 5, 1897 west of Newburg, in Jasper County, Iowa, to John Asher and Eva Whitcomb Breeden. She was raised on the family farm and attended rural school.

On June 2, 1920, she was married to Oliver C. Millgate at Newburg. Inez and Oliver farmed in the Bethel area, southwest of Grinnell. She attended the Bethel Church and was active in church functions. Oliver died on August 16, 1975, and Inez moved to Grinnell in September of 1977. For many years she did sewing and alteration work in her home.

She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Peery of rural Grinnell; one brother, E. Lloyd Breeden of Sun City, California; and nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends. Inez died on Sunday, December 24, 1989 at Friendship Manor in Grinnell. She was 92 years of age, and was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and two brothers, Carl Breeden and Forrest Breeden, who died in infancy.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 11:00 A. M., Wednesday, December 27, 1989 at Smith Funeral Home Grinnell, Iowa.

CLERGYMAN: Rev. Raymond C. Lott, United Methodist Church, Grinnell, Iowa.

MUSIC: Mrs. Kathleen Heffner - organist. "Dear Hearts and Gentle People", "In the Garden", "How Great Thou Art", "Old Rugged Cross", "What A Friend We Have In Jesus", and "Abide With Me".

CASKET BEARERS: Robert W. Ashby, Robert Simmons, Harold Breeden, Steve Walker, John Breeden, Roger Zylstra, Harold Churchill, and William Zylstra.

HONORARY BEARERS: E. Lloyd Breeden and Verner Millgate.

INTERMENT: Bethel Cemetery, Jasper County, Iowa.
