Meredith, Gertrude

Gertrude R. Meredith, daughter of Charles O. and Angie Meredith was born July 5, 1870 and departed this life Dec. 16th, 1898, aged 19 yrs, 5 months and 11 days. The deceased leaves a father, mother, sister and brother to mourn her loss.

The past three years have been years of suffering and affliction, yet throughout it all she has shown great patience and submission to the will of God.

The funeral services were conducted in the Friends Church at 11 o’clock a. m. by Rev. Howard Brown, pastor of the church. A large audience that tested the capacity of the house, was present. Prof. Earnest Meredith of Newton, County Supt. and brother of the deceased, also Jesse Meredith and son Quincy of New Sharon, Rev. Nora Meredith pastor of the Friends Church as Searsboro were in attendance at the funeral. The family have the sincere sympathy of the entire community in their great affliction.
