Mayfield, Grandmother (Nancy)

The death of Grandmother Mayfield, which occurred at the home of her son in Lynnville, on the 10th inst. (of this month), removes the oldest person in Jasper County, she being in her ninety-fourth year, and the first white woman that settled in Lynn Grove Township - in August 1844. N. B.

Mayfield, the son with whom she lived in her old age, was the first white child born in the township. Died: 10 Mar 1900.
