Former Newton Resident Dies
Edna Viola Hitchler McQuown

Funeral services for Mrs. Lee (Viola Hitchler) McQuown, 84, of Emmetsburg, a former resident of Newton, were held recently at Martin's Funeral Home in Emmetsburg.

Survivors are her husband, eight children, a number of grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Walker and Mrs. Lola Baty, both of Newton. Mrs. McQuown, who was born in Newton, was married to Lee McQuown of Monroe. Mrs. McQuown was a member of the Free Methodist Church of Emmetsburg.

She died at the home of her daughter in Emmetsburg. Her sister, a sister-in-law, Mrs. John Hitchler and 14 nieces and nephews attended funeral services.
