The (IA) Newton Record Friday, October 29, 1897
Loveridge, Sam D.

David Loveridge received word a few days ago of the death of his brother, Sam D. Loveridge, which occurred in Alexandria, Ohio, on Sunday, October 17th. Mr. Loveridge will be remembered by many of our citizens. He came here during the war and engaged in the photographic business succeeding I. E. Webster. He afterward carried on a large jewelry establishment on the north side of the square. He was a good man and few men had more friends than Sam Loveridge.

He was a brother to Mrs. D. Sturdevant and D. S. Loveridge, and an uncle of Mrs. G. W. Newell, of this city and vicinity. While in Newton he was a prominent worker in the Universalist Church, and died a firm believer in that faith. He leaves a wife but no children.
