A Good Man Gone
Love, J. L.

J. L. Love, a citizen of Jasper County for nearly thirty years, died at his home in Mitchellville on Wednesday, Oct. 11th. He had not been in good health for several months, but his ailment was not considered of much consequence until quite recently, after a visit to his old boyhood home in Westmoreland County, Penn., since which time his decline had been quite rapid until the end came. He had never married, but a niece and nephew, Mary and John Love, had made their home with him. He was a genial, kind-hearted man and a devoted Christian ­- a member of the Congregational Church for the past eleven years, but previous to that time, a Presbyterian since his childhood. He left in his will an endowment of a thousand dollars to the Mitchellville Congregational Church.
