Rites Tuesday

Miriam Louden, 54, the wife of Donald Louden of 1429 Broad St., died Sunday afternoon, Oct. 17, at Grinnell General Hospital, following an extended illiness.

The daughter of James A. and Florence Glen McCulley Breeden, she was born June 30, 1917, at Newburg. She received her education at the Newburg schools and was a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa. She taught schools in Alexander, Baxter and South Tama.

She was married to Donald Louden at Grinnell July 1, 1944. The couple had two children. She was a member of the United Church of Christ Congregational, the Women's Fellowship, O.E.S., D.A.R., Women's Club, P.E.O. and the Literary Society. For a number of years she served on the Library Board.

She is survived by her husband, her two children: Donald Louden, Jr. of Denton, Tex., and Mrs. Daniel (Elizabeth) O'Brien of Iowa City; two grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Glen Breeden of Grinnell; and her brother, Edward Breeden, also of Grinnell. She was preceded in death by her father and a sister, Florence.

Funeral services for Mrs. Louden will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the United Church of Christ Congregational, with the Rev. Newell E. Davis, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to Grinnell General Hospital. Friends may call at the James Schalinske Funeral Home.
