Death of a Former Newton Man
Lock, Clinton

Mrs. Saldridge received a telegram last Sunday bringing the sad news of the death of her brother, Clinton Lock, which occurred at his home in Boone at 5:30 o’clock Sunday morning. He passed his forty-ninth birthday in January.

Mr. Lock formerly resided in Newton, where he was married twenty-four years ago to Miss Nettie Clark, who lived in Monroe at the time. They moved from Newton about sixteen years ago, and for several years passed have lived in Boone. Besides his widow he leaves four children, Floyd, John Saldridge, Minerva and Emma Rea, all single and living at home. About two years ago he was converted and united to the M. E. Church, continuing a faithful, zealous Christian until he was call to his reward. When his aged Mother, Mrs. Flickinger, died about two weeks ago he was too ill to attend the funeral, although his symptoms were not thought to be at all serious. The unexpected news of his death was a great shock to Mrs. Saldridge who is herself in very feeble health and unable to attend the funeral which occurred Tuesday.
