JONAH L. LITTRELL DIES WEDNESDAY; FUNERAL SATURDAY
Jonah L. Littrell

Johah L. Littrell, 87, Grinnell, died Wednesday afternoon at a local hospital after an illness of the past several months.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. C. E. Kingsley of the First Baptist church officiating. Burial will be in Hazelwood cemetery.

Mr. Litrell was the son of Bluford and Serina Reynolds and was born in Crab Orchard, Ky., Nov. 25th, 1872. He attended local schools near his home and was united in marriage with Martha Caldwell at Stanford, Ky., on Mar. 25th, 1895.

To this union were born five children, two of whom survive: Mrs. W. E. (Wadie) Deppe of Kellogg and Mrs. Harry (Viola) Hartzell of Rte. 2, Grinnell.

In 1907 the family moved to the Grinnell area where Mr. Littrell farmed and in 1942 they moved to Grinnell to make their home.

Surviving besides his wife of 65 years and his two daughters are: two brothers, Craig of Crab Orchard, Ky., and Wilson of St. James, Mo.; a half-brother, Russell Littrell, and a half-sister, Mrs. Caldonia Reynolds, both of Crab Orchard, Ky.

He is preceded in death by one son, C. G. Littrell of Philadelphia, Pa., in 1959, and by two children who died in infancy.
