Mrs. Petermeier Dies Sunday; Rites Tuesday
Baxter - Mrs. Clarence (Florence) Petermeier of Baxter, 70, a resident of Baxter since 1967 and longtime Baxter area resident died Sunday at the Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 o’clock Tuesday morning at the Congregational United Church of Christ at Baxter.
The Rev. Gary Hubley, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Restland Cemetery at Baxter.
Boyd-Nickell Funeral Home in Baxter is handling arrangements.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Gary (Carol Jean) Pyle of Baxter, four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1962 and her parents.
Mrs. Petermeier was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Baxter; Friendly Neighbor Club and the Senior Citizens.
Mrs. Petermeier had been a cook at Colonial Manor for a number of years.
The daughter of Herman B. and Sophia Kanne Saak Jr., she was born Jan. 21, 1907 north of Baxter, attended Baxter schools, was a 1923 graduate of Baxter Community High School and attended business college in Des Moines.
She was married Feb. 20, 1929 at Newton.
