Sophia Saak, Baxter, Dies; Rites Friday
Baxter - Mrs. Herman (Sophia Lydia) Saak, 92, Colonial Manor, Baxter, resident of Baxter since 1920, died Wednesday at Skiff Memorial Hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Baxter.
The Rev. T. A. Thompson, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery in Baxter.
Friends may call at Boyd-Nickell Funeral home in Baxter after 5 p.m. today.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Florence Petermeier of Baxter, a granddaughter, Mrs. Gary (Carol Jean) Pyle of Baxter and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in June 1954, four sisters and three brothers.
Mrs. Saak was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ.
The daughter of Henry and Louisa Kanne, she was born Oct. 23, 1877 in Jasper County.
She was married March 5, 1902 in Bethany Church near Baxter.
