Henry Kiisel, Jr. Dead

Although not wholly unexpected, the telegram bearing the sad tidings of the death of Henry Kiisel, received last Saturday afternoon fell with no less crushing force on the hearts of his large circle of Newton relatives and friends.

Henry had been living in Augusta, Georgia, for the past six or seven years. For some time his health has been failing, but his friends continued to hope that a change for the better would come. About six weeks ago, his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Henry L. Kiisel, of this city, went to Augusta, and Mr. K. wrote us that they were surprised on their arrival to find Henry at the depot waiting to greet them.

He must have been stricken suddenly, as his friends knew nothing of his being worse until the message came of his death. No further particulars have been received.

Henry was 29 years of age, and leaves a wife and one child. He was born and grew to manhood in Newton and his early death has brought sorrow to those who knew him for his manly worth and many noble qualities. ~ The Newton Record, Friday, February 22, 1895
