Jontz, Mrs. Ed (Sanderson)

Mrs. Ed Jontz died at her home in Malaka Township, about five miles north of town, on Sunday evening, January 16th. The circumstances of Mrs. Jontz’s death are very sad indeed, and cause great sorrow to a large circle of relatives and friends. She had been suffering from a tumor for some time, and it became necessary for an operation to be performed; her death resulted from it. Her age was about thirty-nine years.

She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Sanderson, and was born in Marshall County, Ill. The funeral services were held at the Wittemburg Congregational Church Tuesday, conducted by Rev. G. L. Shull, of Baxter, and the remains were laid to rest in the Newton Cemetery. The father and two sisters of the deceased, of Minnesota, were present.

Mrs. Jontz was known as a most excellent woman throughout the neighborhood where her home has been for several years. She leaves no children. To the bereaved husband all join in the tenderest sympathy.
