Mrs. Leota Iske Dies at Age 73
Leota Maude Hitchler Iske

Mrs. Leota Maude (David) Iske, 73, longtime Jasper County resident, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Everett Williams at Marshalltown Monday afternoon. She had been at Marshalltown for a little over two weeks. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Toland Funeral home with the Rev. Frederick Shmidt of the Newton Full Gospel church officiating.

Survivors are twin sons, Jack Iske, Newton, and Kenneth Iske, Grinnell; two daughters, Mrs. Everett (Edna) Williams and Mrs. Ralph (Thedora) Shaver, Mingo; five step sons, Theodore, Charlie, and Carrol Iske of California; Francis Iske, Phoenix, Ariz., and the Rev. Harold Iske, Chicago; two step daughters, Mrs. Guy (Irene) Wisgerhof, Newton; and Mrs. Harley (Genevieve) McGrath, Grinnell, three sisters, Mrs. Baty and Mrs. Will Walker, both of Newton, and Mrs. Lee McQuown, Emmestsburg; one brother, John Hitchler, Newton; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Born to Lydia Benskin and George Hitchler at Newton Oct. 1, 1884, the deceased married Roy Pentico who died in 1920. She married David Iske in 1922. He died in 1957. She was a member of the Full Gospel Mission church. Burial will be at Newton Union cemetery.
