Jack Stanley Iske

Jack S. Iske, 65, of West Liberty, a former resident of Newton, died Friday, Feb. 11, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids following a short illness.

Cremation followed death.

Visitation with the family will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at West Liberty Country Club.

Memorials to a fund in his name may be sent to Barker Funeral Home, 205 E. 34d St., West Liberty 52776.

Survivors are his wife, Jeannette; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Jascinta of Richmond, Va.; a daughter, Joey Fabere of Naperville, Ill.; and two grandsons. Also surviving are three sisters, Genevieve McIllrath of Grinnell, Thedora Shaver of Newton and Edna Williams of Marshalltown.

He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and a sister.

Mr. Iske coached in Bondurant for several years before moving to West Liberty in 1969. He taught and coached in West Liberty High School until 1973. He later worked in the insurance business. Mr. Iske, who served in the Marine Corps, was a member of the West Liberty Country Club.

The son of Dave and Maud Hitchler Iske, he was born Sept. 2, 1928 in Laurel, was a 1946 graduate of Newton Community High School and was graduated from Simpson College in Indianola with a bachelor's degree in education.

He was married to Jeannette Ogan March 25, 1951 in Indianola.
