Obituary
Immell, William "Bill"William E. "Bill" Immell, 60, of 1538 W 14th St. S., a resident of Newton since 1988, died Monday evening, Sept. 4, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Graveside rites will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Newton Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Adams, associate pastor of the Community Heights Alliance Church, will conduct services.
Friends may call at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home after noon Wednesday. Visitation with the family will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions to the American Lung Association will be accepted.
Survivors are his wife, Doris; a son, Wayne of Riverside, Calif.; two daughters, Judith (Mrs. Michael) Hartman of West Covina, Calif.; and Deborah (Mrs. Sheldon) Gill of Murrieta, Calif; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, June (Mrs. John) Burns of Indianapolis, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Immell, a Navy veteran of World War II, was in the printing industry. A self-employed lithographer, Mr. Immell had owned M & M Photo Plate Co. of Los Angeles, Calif. The son of Marshall and Cleo Myers Immell, he was born July 22, 1929 at Greenwood, Ind., attended Indianapolis, Ind. schools and was graduated from high school in the Hawaiian Islands.
He was married to Doris Baty Oct. 26, 1961 in Arcadia, Calif. Mr. Immell had resided in Big Bear Calif., for nearly six years before moving to Oklahoma for four years, prior to moving to Newton.
