H. Louise O'Brien Hewitt Louise O'Brien Hewitt, 85, of USA Healthcare Center in Newton died of heart failure Wednesday, Sept. 12, at the center. No services are scheduled. The body was cremated. Private family burial will take place at the Newton Union Cemetery at a later date with Chaplain Merle Smith officiating. Wallace Family Funeral Home In Newton is handling arrangements. Family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials will be accepted to Hospice of Jasper County and may be left at the funeral home.

The daughter of Henry and Olive Hughes Hildebrand, she was born June 12, 1916, In New Sharon. She grew up in Newton and graduated from Newton Senior High School in 1934. She lived in Las Vegas, Nev., from 1972 to 1998 and then moved back to Newton. She married Clifton J. O'Brien in 1934 in Ottumwa. She later married Orville Hewitt on Sept. 23, 1962, in Clear Lake. Mrs. Hewitt was an inspector for 20 years for the Maytag Company. She retired in 1972.

Survivors include a son, Mike O'Brien of Waco, Texas, a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Mike Bollhoefer of Newton; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four great great grandchildren: a brother, Jim Hildebrand of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; two sisters, Joann Armstrong and Irene Kingery, both of Newton; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, a daughter, brother and two sisters.
