Mrs. Polly Porter Dead
The remains of Mrs. Polly Porter, who passed away at her home in Norman, Okla., last week on her 89th birthday, arrived here Friday via Rock Island, accompanied by her daughter, Mrs. Lizzie McLain. They were met here by relatives and friends who escorted the remains to the Slaughter cemetery where interment was made. Short services were conducted by Rev. L. B. Pruitt. Mrs. Porter was an old resident of the county, having moved to Oklahoma several years ago to reside with her daughter. Death was caused from cancer.
