DES MOINES, Iowa - Kenneth E. Heck, 43, died of heart failure, Monday, May 12, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.

Funeral service will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Newton with the Rev. Jerry Brown officiating. Burial will be in Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call after 9 a.m. Thursday. Family will be present from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening. The Wallace-Pence Funeral Home is in charge.

Memorials to the Laurel Hill Neighborhood Association will be accepted.

The son of Rex and Evelyn Anderson Heck, he was born Nov. 26, 1953, in Des Moines. He graduated from Newton High School in 1972.

He married Cynthia D. Dunn Aug. 2, 1985, in Des Moines.

A resident of Newton for 19 years he later moved to Des Moines. He was employed by Diamond Animal Health, as a manager, where he worked for 24 years. He was a member of the Laurel Hill Neighborhood Association. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Nicholas J. and Kevin K. Minard, both of Des Moines; a grandson; a brother and sister-in-law, Steven A. and Cathleen Heck of Newton; a sister and brother-in-law, Patsy and Jerold of Colfax; his parents; a father-in-law, Roy C. Dunn; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law.
