Owen C. Williams, age 88 of Colfax, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. Visitation will be held on Monday November 18, 2019 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Colfax Senior Citizen Center or the Colfax Fire Department and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com

The son of David C. and Lula (Downs) Williams, Owen was born on July 28, 1931 in Calhoun County, Iowa. He graduated from Fonda High School in 1950 and attended Iowa State University. Owen served in the United States Air Force. On December 23, 1956, he was united in marriage to Cheranne Chalstrom in Fort Dodge. Owen was self-employed. He attended the Presbyterian Church, was a board member of the Colfax Senior Citizen Center, the Am Vets and the Colfax American Legion. He also served on the Board of Adjustments for the City of Colfax. Other than his family, helping start the Avenue of Honor at the local cemeteries brought him the greatest joy.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Cheranne; four children, Lynn (Kevin) Blake, Mike (Lori) Williams, Nancy (Dennis) Williams, and Jon Williams; five grandchildren, Ryan (Lilita) Woody, David (Kendra) Woody, Michael (Michelle) Dunn, Adam (Randi) Williams and Nick (Ann) Williams; and 14 great grandchildren, with one more on the way. Also surviving are two sisters, Lorena Coker and Bonita (Del) Hauff. Preceding Owen in death were his parents and a brother-in-law, Dave Coker. ~ The Coburn Funeral Home, Colfax, Iowa 14 Nov 2019.
