Hanks, Susan

Mrs. Susan Hanks was born in Monroe County, Pennsylvania, January 6, 1819, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Geo. Curry, Sept. 18th, 1897.

Mrs. Hanks was a member of the Congregational Church in her former home.

Rev. King, of Colfax, conducted the funeral at 2 p. m. Sunday, at the home of her daughter. This was one of the largest funerals ever attended in this vicinity.

Mrs. Hanks, the aged mother of George Curry, died at his home in Md. Prairie Township on Friday, Sept. 17th, aged nearly 79 years.

Mother Hanks had been a great sufferer for a long time and her death came as a happy ending of all earthly affliction. She made her home for many years with the family of her son, receiving all the tender care and loving attention that kind hearts could suggest, during all her declining years.
