Gordon, ThomasThomas Arthur Gordon, 45, of 319 E 12th St. N. died of heart failure Monday, June 4, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Pence Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. Ed Lord, associate pastor of Community Heights Alliance Church in Newton, officiating. Burial will be at Metz Cemetery in rural Newton.
Friends may call Thursday after 9 a.m. at the funeral home where family will be present from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Memorials will be accepted in his name.
The son of Arthur Heston Gordon and Margaret Louise Dickerson, he was born Dec. 24, 1955, in Red Bluff, Calif. He was a graduate of Newton Senior High School. Mr. Gordon was a construction worker and enjoyed camping and fishing.
Survivors include a son, Benjamin Thomas of Newton; a daughter; Sheree Marie of Colfax; five sisters, Beverly Honeycutt of Ottumwa, Kathleen Whitlock, Sharon Gaston, Patricia Moore and Rosemary Kelly, all of Ireland; and a special friend Raye Dunham of Newton.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
