Entered Into Rest
Gilbert, SarahAfter many weeks of suffering the spirit of Mrs. Sarah Gilbert, beloved wife of Mr. James Gilbert, wafted away to rest eternally Tuesday, March 28, 1899.
Mrs. Gilbert with her husband came to Jasper County 34 years ago, where they have since made their home. Twelve children came to their home, of whom five remain to comfort the aged father in his great sorrow.
Mrs. Gilbert was converted last June and was united with the M. E. Church. In all her suffering she was patient and sad indeed will be the home now that this spirit of love has been removed. Oh, the sad, sad home coming of her loved ones to home bereft of mother.
Mrs. Gilbert was 68 years, 6 months old, a patient, loving wife and mother, whose home and loved ones constituted her world, always there to smile, to comfort and to cheer. The funeral was held at the M. E. Church Wednesday, conducted by Rev. W. R. Martin.
