Frank Gagle, Jr.
Highway Accident Fatal to Frank Gagle, Jr. Saturday
Death Came Twelve Hours After Accident Near Baraboo, Wis.

Frank Gagle, Jr., 33, a former Colfax resident, but now of Des Moines was fatally injured Friday night in a highway accident near Baraboo, Wis., which resulted in his death twelve hours later.

Mr. Gagle had gone to Baraboo earlier in the week to secure work and locate an apartment for his family. With plans to go to work Monday and the apartment located he called his wife at Des Moines, about seven o'clock Friday night. Both Mrs. Gagle and Daughter, Delores talked to him and in the course of the converation he decided to come home for the weekend.

Taking an ungraded and unmarked highway which was a short cut, the men failed to make a blind corner at the foot of a hill and the car left the highway and struck a tree. Mr. Brooks of Des Moines, with whom Frank was making the trip, was killed instantly. His watch stopped at 9:30. It was sometime later the men were discovered and Frank was rushed to the hospital at Baraboo. He regained consciousness long enough to tell the nurse who he was and to slightly recognize his wife who arrived there at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Mrs. Gagle made the trip with her niece, Mrs. Marjorie Buchler and husband of Des Moines.

Frank was the son of the late Frank Gagle, Sr., and Mrs. Cora Whitney Gagle. He grew to manhood in this vicinity and attended the Colfax schools.

He assisted his father in the management of his farms until two years ago when he moved with his family to Denver Colo. He returned to Des Moines several months ago.

He is survived by his wife, the former Ruth Bruce and two children, Delores Kay, 4 years old and a son, Frank Bruce, 1 month old, his step-mother, Mrs Betty Gagle of this city and one sister, Mrs. R. W. Williams of Collins.

Funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Presbyterian church with Rev. H. Wybenga officiating.

Interment will be in the McKeever Cemetery.
