Fray, Melinda

Monroe - Mrs. Melinda Fray, of Monroe, died April 10, aged 76 years, 5 months, 9 days. She was born in Chillicothe, Ohio, lived there until '49, when she moved to Moneka (Mokena?), Ill. From there, in '52, she moved to Monroe Iowa. She was the mother of nine children. She has known great sorrow; her husband was suddenly killed, leaving her a widow at 38 years. Four of her six sons entered the Civil War, returning in shattered health. The last four years were full of dreadful suffering, but she bore it patiently and cheerfully waiting her summons home. She was a member of the M. E. Church and a faithful Christian.
