EUGENE M. FORBES TAKES OWN LIFE
Forbes, Eugene

For some time past Eugene M. Forbes, who with his family has resided on what is known as the Everett Round farm 4 miles southeast of town, has acted in a despondent manner, and his family have worried considerably about him.

Sunday evening he disappeared and as he had talked some of going away for a visit, it was thought he might suddenly have made up his mind to go. Inquiries at the depots at West Concord and Dodge Center however, failed to locate him.

On Monday morning when members of his family went to the barn they discovered his body hanging from a rafter, an examination showed that he had been dead at least seven or eight hours. Brief services were held at the house Tuesday morning, Rev. M. B. Meeks officiating, and the body was shipped to Newton, Iowa, his old home, and interment was made in the Metz cemetery. West Concord Enterprise, August 21, 1924. Thanks to Warren Throndson for looking this up in Dodge Co., Minnesota.
