C.S. FERGUSON DIED SUDDENLY
Funeral Services Held Sunday Afternoon; Burial in Des Moines

C.S. Ferguson, of this city, passed away very suddenly Thursday of heart failure, diabetes and flu, being contributory causes.

Mr. Ferguson was compelled to remain at his home from his work about a week or ten days before his death. While his condition was bad when he had a heart attack, yet his sudden death came as a shock, not only to his immediate family, but to his friends in this city.

The Fergusons moved to Colfax about six years ago and made their home on a small acreage in the southwest part of the city. During the past few years he has been doing the delivering for the Fenner and Burnett grocery stores.

In his quiet and unassuming manner, Mr. Ferguson probably did not make as many acquaintances as some folks, but his friends were lasting and those who knew him felt the sincerity of his friendship.

Charles Samuel Ferguson was born January 19th, 1870 at Whitewater, Wisconsin, and departed this life March 10th, 1932 at his home in Colfax, Iowa, at the age of 62 years 1 month and 20 days.

Mr. Ferguson spent his boyhood around Algona, Iowa, and later moved to Livermore and then Curleu, where he was united in marriage to Emma Richards.

Two children came to bless the home, Mrs. Charles Graham of Des Moines and George Ferguson of Ottumwa, Iowa.

Six years ago the family moved to Colfax, where they have since made their home. Those left to mourn his passing are his wife, the daughter, Mrs. Charles Graham and husband of Des Moines, and son, George Ferguson and wife of Ottumwas and two grandchildren, besides many other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist Church Sunday afternoon with Rev. L.C. McDonald, the pastor, officiating. The Masonic order attended the services in a body and at the close of the service, F.W.Forhies, Master of the lodge, gave the Masonic service.

Burial was made Monday morning in the Masonic cemetery in Des Moines. The music for the srvice was furnished by a quartette composed of Mrs. B.F. Van Dyke, Mrs. P.W. Farrell, John A. Davis and B.F. Van Dyke, with William Cubit at the organ.

check mark Submitter's note: The birth year given has been found to be in error, it was 1871. C.S. Ferguson's remains were moved to the Colfax Cemetery around 1950.
