OMAHA, Neb. – Audra Helyne Emmack, 96, of Mt. Clair Nursing and Rehabilitation Home in Omaha, Neb., died Sunday, March 16.

Services will be held at a later date in Newton.

The daughter of Francis and Hannah (Leidig) Brooks, she was born Sept. 5, 1906, in Amboy, Ill. She graduated in 1924 from the high school in Amboy, Ill., and then attended the Brown Business College. She was employed as a secretary until May 1931 for the New York Central Railroad. She also was employed for a time with the Welcome Wagon program.

On May 2, 1931, she married Lyle Emmack of Newton, in Chicago, Ill. They lived in the Chicago area until 1938. Mrs. Emmack joined the United Methodist Church in Newton in 1938 and was active in many capacities including the church choir, Sunday school teacher and superintendent and the Builders Sunday School class. She served actively in the PTA, the PEO and the Jasper County Cancer Society. She was a member of the Jasper County Farm Bureau and the Amboy Grange.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Emmack and Kathy Coe of Keithsburg, Ill, Norman and Naomi Emmack of Omaha, Neb., and Malcolm and Barbara Emmack of Indianapolis, Ind.; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren.
