LYNNVILLE RESIDENT DIES IN OSKALOOSA
Charles Elscott

LYNNVILLE (Special): Charles Elscott, 60, a long time resident of Lynnville died at 4 a.m. Wednesday morning (July 26) in Mahaska hospital in Oskaloosa where he had been a patient for six weeks.

The son of Henry and Jennie Van Workum Elscott, Mr. Elscott was born on Jan. 24, 1907 in Mahaska County near Taintor, one of ten children.

Mr. Elscott lived in the Lynnville area almost all of his life and he was a long time employee of Maytag in Newton.

Survivors include his wife - - - Madeline Sparks Elscott of Lynnville who he married on June 12, 1927; three sisters - - - Mrs. Vern (Katherine) Stanley of Lynnville, Mrs. John (Artie) Jansen of Sully, and Mrs. Louis (Henrietta) Janson of Pleasantville; and his twin brother - - - Harry Elscott of Lynnville.

Mr. Elscott was preceded in death by three sisters - - - Mrs. Mary Kuiper, Mrs. Anna Monsma and Mrs. Jeanette Wooge, and two brothers, John and Guy Elscott.

Funeral services for Mr. Elscott are pending at the Hardin Funeral Home in New Sharon. Services will be held at the Lynnville Friends Chruch.
