Eugene Elliott Dies At Home Of Mother After Sixteen Months Illness.

Eugene Elliott, 19, died Tuesday May 14th at the home of his mother, Mrs. Edna Elliott, after suffering sixteen months from a tumor on the brain. He spent some time in the University Hospital at Iowa City in November of 1945 where no hopes were given for his recovery. However, he was only bedfast about a week before his death.

He was born June 26th, 1926 in Missouri and came with his family to Colfax about twelve years ago, in which place has since been his home.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Edna Elliott, father Albert Elliott, three sisters, Mrs. Roy VanWinkle of Colfax, Mrs. Oscar Webster of Newton, Mrs. Raymond Fincher of Tama and two brothers Carl Elliott and Jesse Elliott of Colfax.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Bumgardner Funeral Chapel with Rev. Wilmer Leeds officiating. Interment will be in the Colfax Cemetery.
