Funeral services for Terry Lane Ellenwood 36, 12320 S. 12th Ave E., Kellogg, who died of heart failure Thursday, July 13, while vacationing in Nassau, Bahamas, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 21 at the Newton Community Heights Alliance Church.

The Rev. Bill Adams, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Wallace Pence Funeral Home after noon Thursday and visitation with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials in his name will be accepted.

Survivors are his wife, Denise; a son, Christopher of Kellogg; and a daughter, Jacquelyn of Kellogg. Also surviving are two brothers and a sister-in-law, Scott and Sharon Ellenwood of Newton and Randy Smith of Newton; and three sisters and brothers-in-law, Dana and Larry Beck and Bev and Gary Price, all of Newton, and Pam and Norm Jones of Marshalltown; his mother, Alice Turley of Newton; and step-mother, Dorothy Ellenwood of Kellogg.

Mr. Ellenwood was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Junior Ellenwood, who died Nov. 2, 1994.

Mr. Ellenwood, a supervisor in the plastics department, had been employed at the Maytag Co. since 1984.

He was a member of the Maytag Management Club, the Maytag Bowling League, the Maytag Slow-pitch Softball League and a member and board member of the Jasper County Men’s Bowling Association.

He served in the U.S. Army with the U.S. Airborne in Italy.

The son of Lloyd Junior and Alice Nichols Ellenwood, he was born June 14, 1959 in Newton and was a 1977 graduate of Newton Community High School.

He was married to Denise L. DeGreef July 14, 1978 at the Assembly of God Church in Newton.

A lifelong resident of Jasper County, he moved to Kellogg in 1982.
